What is the Kirk Men’s Club?

The Kirk Mens Club Mission Statement:

Where Deeds meet Needs,

when our personal skills are brought

to bear on various community ills.

We are a group of men …….

Whose insignia of service is represented by the cross.

Whose sympathy sees and say, “I’m Sorry”,

but compassion sees and says, “I’ll help”.

Who believe offering advice may be noble and grand,

but it’s just not the same as a helping hand.

Who are go-getters and go-givers as well.

The Kirk Mens Club meets once a month, on the first Wednesday, at the Presbyterian Kirk of the Hills at 8:30  a.m.  There is always a devotional session and a business meeting. All the men of the Kirk are members, as well as men within the community that are interested in working with us.

The Mens Club’s policy is to provide only manpower for approved projects.  Material, supplies and other needs are made available by the receiving benefactor.  We ask for no pay for our services, but donations are accepted.  Projects are discussed and voted on by the membership, and those working on the projects do so voluntarily.  Throughout the years the Kirk Mens Club has built many wheelchair ramps and rails for the handicap, decks, repairs and outside picnic tables and benches for Ferncliff Church Camp in Little Rock, repaired the deck at the Log Cabin, repairs to the chapel at Mt. Eagle, and decks, tables and benches at the Sherriff’s Youth Ranch, to name a few.

Funds are also raised through the sale of hot dogs and Jambalaya at Fairfield Bay events and significant financial contributions have been made to local organizations, as well as food basket provided to those in need during the thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
